Music and Sensory for PMLD
Calm Farm's experienced and friendly team are able to work with sensory impaired people who have Profound & Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and we do this through a range of activities for children, young people and adults.
The wide range of activities available encourage a combination of techniques using Music, Movements and Visual Sensory equipment. This service aims to reduce social isolation and develop communication skills through involvement in multi sensory group with mixed abilities.
Some activities and equipment used include a wide range of music and sound effects, Makaton, movement and dance, sensory props and instruments, puppets and our wonderful sensory dark den.
In the dark den we display a range of lights including flashing balls and other hand held objects, multi action string lights, globes and our wonderful star gazer. The den is also a place to relax and feel calm when we are winding down the sessions.

Calm Farm encourages a combination of TCRM techniques (Touch-massage, Communication, and Relaxation using Music and Movements) which provides this client group with a range of stimulating and pleasurable experiences.
