The practice was established by Rachel Streeter & John McCormack to provide counselling and coaching support for young people and adults.
Rachel Streeter MBACP, Dip. Couns. BA. (Hons.)
Rachel Streeter is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), qualified to
Diploma level, with over ten years experience of working with clients suffering with mental health issues,
which vary from stress, anxiety and panic attacks, through to severe and enduring depression and
psychosis. She has specialist experience of bereavement, loss and trauma as well as various drugs and
alcohol related dependency issues.
Rachel has worked as a Youth Advocate with young offenders on rehabilitation programmes, providing counselling, family support and assistance with returning to education and employment. This role included delivering training workshops on substance misuse and sexual health matters.
Rachel has a BA Honours degree in Music and a Diploma in Performing Arts and currently combines these skills with her therapeutic experience to run music therapy workshops for young people with severe learning disabilities and autism as well as elderly people suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
John McCormack MBACP, Adv.Dip. Couns. BSc. (Hons.) Dip THP. Cert. Ed.
John McCormack is a qualified hypnotherapist, a BACP Accredited Counsellor and a qualified teacher.
He is currently a Course Manager for Counselling Courses and an Advanced Teaching Practitioner at a Further Education College in London. He teaches Solution Focused Therapies (integrating CBT & NLP), Psychodynamic and Intercultural Therapy to Foundation Degree level. He is responsible for a team of twelve tutors, delivering up to thirty courses at levels 2 to 4 in Counselling to over 500 students.
John has over twelve years of experience of providing counselling for several specialist organisations, including working with young people, survivors of abuse, to working with addictions and as a treatment manager for a Prison Drug Rehabilitation Programme. He also provides individual and group supervision to counsellors at Victim Support.
The Counselling Team
We have a network of fully qualified male and female counsellors on our team, all with specialist experience ranging from working with survivors of abuse, child protection, conduct disorders, bereavement and loss, to general conditions of depression and anxiety.
